The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver
Many of you may have already read this interesting and sometimes heartbreaking
novel. It was Oprah's book pick in July of 2000.
It grabbed me from the first page and I am sure it will grab you too.
It is not a fluffy love story, it is a book of substance. If you
have not already picked up this novel please do this summer. I hope
you enjoy it and if any of my readers would like I have two copies
and would be happy to pass on this great read.

Plain and Simple
by Sue Bender
This is a book that I have had for many years. I have reread it
several times and just this week it landed on my bedside table again.
It is quite a coincidence as my life lately seems to be a bit more
hectic than I would like it to be. The message is PLAIN and SIMPLE
just like the title. The author in her search for the meaning of
the simplicity of the Amish quilt discovers”a world where
clutter and hurry are replaced with inner quiet and calm ritual”.
This book speaks to the seeker in all of us.

Smart Women Finish Rich
by David Bach
This is his take on this book Here are two things I liked:
1) his balanced approach to 'wealth'. He does this by encouraging
the reader to develop a statement of their values and then to see
the part that money plays. Wealth, then is not only money, but relationships,
health, autonomy, etc.
2) He affirms that women are excellent money managers, and offers
concepts and tools to increase their efficiency.”This
is a great read as well as a motivational tool for women particularly
to take control of their finances. David Bach also has several books
in his Finish Rich series almost forgot that I have been reading
this book and was following the program in the book with a friend
of mine.

Simple Abundance
A Day of Comfort and Joy
By Sarah Ban Breathnach
The book addresses a broad spectrum of beliefs and however hectic
my days seem at times I have that one thought for the day that brings
me back to the “Simple Abundance “
of my life. The authors goal in her writing is to assist in clearing
the clutter of our daily lives so you can find the authentic
life we were born to live.” I hope you enjoy this daily read as much as I have.

The 8th Habit
By Stephen R Covey
I am now reading The 8th Habit written by Stephen
Covey. This book speaks to me on many levels. There are several
passages that are particularly poignant.
“The 8th Habit" is to Find Your voice
and Inspire Others to Find Their Voice”. I say how can you
find your voice if you can’t find your keys? This is organizing
from a level much deeper than the paper or clutter, it goes to the
heart of the matter.
